Ancient Capitals Tour Itinerary

Day 1 Depart Your Country
2 Arrive Beijing – Met by local guide and transferred to your central area Hotel.
3 Beijing – Guide will take you to Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and the Summer Palace after lunch. BLD
4 Beijing – Guide will take you to the Great Wall at Mutianyu with cable car included both ways. Visit the Lama Temple on the way back to the city known for the 5 Story Tall Buddha carved from one tree trunk. BLD
5 Beijing – Guide will take you to the Temple of Heaven in the morning and to the Rainbow Market before lunch. Lunch will be at the famous Beijing Noodle King restaurant. Free time in the afternoon to explore on your own. BL dinner on your own. ( ask about the Xui-Xui Market
6 Beijing/Datong by train. Morning free until the guide comes to transfer you to the train station for your afternoon train to Datong. In Datong you will be met by the local guide. (Stay on the platform outside your car and wait for the guide to meet you there) Guide will take you to dinner and then transfer you to your hotel. BD Lunch on your own. (take snacks for the train and water)
7 Datong – Guide will take you to the famous Yungang Grottoes in the morning. After lunch you will visit the HuaYuan Temple and the Shan Hua Temple. BLD
8 Datong/Taiyuan by car. Guide will take you through the countryside to the Dong Ge Tun village and visit a Cave Dweller nearby. You then will go to the famous “Hanging Temple” at Heng Shan which is 1400 years old. After lunch in Yin Xian City you will visit the 9 Story Tall Wooden Pagoda, largest wooden Pagoda in China built in 1056 Transfer to your hotel. BLD
9 Taiyuan/Pingyao – Guide will take you to the ancient city of Pingyao a UNESCO site surrounded by a preserved City Wall via a stop at the Qiau Family home with 313 rooms used in the movie “Raise the Red Lantern”. Transfer to a Folk-Style Guesthouse. The first bank in China was started here and you can visit it as the city is as it was 200 years ago. BLD
10 Pingyao/Taiyuan/Xian. Guide will transfer you to the airport in Taiyuan for your afternoon flight to Xian. In Xian you will be met by the local guide and transferred to your hotel in the central area. Special Traditional Dumpling Dinner tonight. BLD
11 Xian – Guide will take you to the famous Terra Cotta Warriors site. After lunch you will be taken to the HuaQing Pools Tang Dynast Winter Palace site. A visit to the Jade Carving Workshop to see many pieces of Jade Art is one of the best in China. Tonight you will attend the Tang Dynasty dinner and show one of the best in China. BLD.
12 Xian/Luoyang by morning train. Guide will take you to the train station for your train to Luoyang ancient Capital. Notice the many Cave Dwellers homes on the left side of the train as you pass through the countryside. Guide will meet you on the platform in Luoyang. Guide will then take you to lunch before going to the Luoyang Museum and a visit to an Urban Cave Dweller in the suburbs. Transfer to your hotel. BLD
13 Luoyang – Guide will take you to the famous Longmen Grottoes along the river in the morning. Note the beautiful home across the river once the Summer residence of Chiang Kai-shek. After lunch you will be free in the afternoon to explore on your own. BL dinner on your own.
14 Luoyang/Shaolin Temple/Luoyang or to Zhengzhou to your hotel. Guide will take you to the famous Shaolin Temple known for the Kungfu Monks. See a performance of Kungfu by the Monks as well as visiting their Monastery. Back to Luoyang or on to Zhengzhou depending on the Air schedule at different times of the year. BLD
15 Luoyang or Zhengzhou to Beijing by air. Guide will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Beijing. Agent in Beijing will meet you and transfer you to your central area hotel. BL Dinner on your own.
16 Beijing/Home Agent will transfer you to the airport for your flight home. B. only.

Am glad you found my web site.  As you can see I have retired or at least in the process of closing down the business.  It has been 25 years of most interesting experiencesPanda0001 of my life.  In my work life I held many positions in business either as VP of Sales, President of some companies mostly in the Lawn and Garden field.  I also developed a few retail products which are still being sold today.  Retired at age 47 I became interested in China as a culture and country that was going to be a world power some day…..that day has come already.  When you go to China you will find the most friendly people and they love Americans and American culture.  China can be very overwhelming to say the least.  It is important to do research on where you want to go and what you want to do and see.
